Accoya
Accoya is the collective name for wood (often pine) that has been treated with a high concentration of vinegar. This ensures that the hydrophilic properties in the wood are replaced by water-repellent properties. Due to this modification process, the wood hardly reacts to moisture. Instead of swelling when wet and shrinking when it dries, the wood remains stable. In addition, the wood loses weight, making our furniture easier to move.
Accoya is seen as the future of wood. Did you know that when Struismeubels was founded, we were the first in the Netherlands to make garden furniture from Accoya? It is used in more and more places, and can now also be found in the furniture industry thanks to Struismeubels.
